Datenschutzerklärung

This Privacy Policy explains what information VerticalShorts (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our website, how we use it and the choices you have. We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the Service.

Information we collect

• Account information — if you create an account: your name, e-mail address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure, salted hash; we can never see them.
• Your activity — if you have an account: the series you save to Favorites, your watch history and playback position. Beyond that we only count, per day, how often each title is opened or played and how often each search is made — these counts are not linked to you, your browser or your IP address.
• Technical data — your IP address, browser type and device information, used to keep the Service secure and to maintain sessions. We do not keep a record of visitors’ IP addresses.
• Cookies — a small number of cookies that keep you signed in and remember your language. See our Cookie Policy.

How we use it

• To provide the Service: signing you in, Favorites, “continue watching” and your preferred language.
• To understand what is popular (for example the most-watched titles and most common searches) and to improve the catalog.
• To protect the Service and our users, including preventing abuse and investigating misuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Catalog requests are made by our servers to our content partners without your account details. When you press play, your browser may load the video directly from the content provider’s delivery network, which receives standard technical information such as your IP address, as with any video on the web. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can remove titles from Favorites and clear individual entries — or your entire watch history — at any time from the History page. The daily counts of views, plays and searches cannot identify anyone and are deleted after about four months.

Security

We use industry-standard measures such as password hashing, secure session cookies and encrypted connections where available. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

• View and update your name and password from your Account page.
• Clear your watch history and Favorites whenever you like.
• Request a copy or deletion of your account data by contacting us — we will respond within a reasonable time.
• Control cookies through your browser settings (some features need essential cookies to work).

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
