Divine healer's disciple Sage Shaw returns to the Shaw family, offered by her father to 'deceased' Julian Kingston. She finds Julian feigning death from poison and revives him. Julian proposes a contract marriage for detoxification and inheritance. Sage agrees to fight the Shaw family. Initially wary, they develop feelings. A rival, Julian's admirer, targets Sage.
