Julian Zane returns home and funds a road to repay a debt of gratitude. Chairman Crawford sets up a private tollbooth and incites villagers to falsely accuse Julian Zane to seize the road. Faced with betrayal, Julian Zane orders the destruction of the road. The destruction causes the village's tea harvest to rot. The villagers awaken, bring the villain to justice, and atone by selling everything to rebuild the road. Can Julian Zane forgive them?
