The heroine comes from a son-favoring ordinary family, loved only by her grandmother. A college boy often helps her, but her severe nearsightedness and poverty for glasses leave her never seeing his face clearly. Years later, to pay for her grandma's surgery, she tries to trick him — only to be seen through and claimed by him.
