Villagers sealed Morian, inventing the Mountain God Ritual, a human sacrifice. Sacrificed villagers' resentment formed the Forbidden Well. Rosalind Rivers is thrown into the well, meeting Morian, who waited for her for three lifetimes. Morian reveals the truth; together, they expose ancestral sins, abolish the custom, and dispel resentment. Morian's obsession fades. Morian protects her as a spirit; they transcend their three-lifetime bond to be together, ending their karmic cycle.
