Landon Croft brought water to Dragonridge. Villagers turned on him, Alderman Dawson ordering Brutus Dawson to break his legs. Landon escaped, becoming 'Water Dragon King'. He returned to a ghost town. He built a poor channel; water seeped away. He refused pleas, tricked them into a deadly forest, causing loss of men. Dragonridge wiped off the map. Landon established an academy. The emperor honored him. He reflected, 'Pain reminds me of human evil, spring taught me goodness.'
