Zoe Vance is reborn as Miranda Mercer and discovers that the Mercer family, her adoptive family, is preparing to 'sell' her again. Using memories from her past life, Miranda fights back against the family: she takes control of the account books, exposes their corruption, and helps Zoe escape. Miranda is taken by Julian to the 'Nameless Manor' for protection and testing, where his extreme possessiveness begins to show. Miranda counters his control with logic. The two engage in multiple psychological games filled with ambiguity, tension, and danger. Roy Warner pretends to 'save' her, but she refuses and instead uses him to create trouble for Julian, planning to escape in the chaos. However, she discovers that the younger Zoe Vance has been kidnapped by Hector Donovan to force Miranda to appear.
To save Zoe, Miranda cooperates with Julian again, and they join forces to deal with the Mercer, Donovan, and Warner families.
