The Regent's Substitute Bride

Elara Sterling is forced by her half-sister Yvonne Sterling to be a substitute bride for the blind Regent Prince, Alaric Lancaster. Yvonne assumes Elara's identity. Elara receives kindness from Alaric, who regains his sight and knows the truth of the substitute marriage. Yvonne and Top Scholar Julian Linden try to harm Elara; Julian commits treason. Alaric foils their plot, punishing them and the Sterling family. Alaric retires with a pregnant Elara, while Yvonne and Julian die during exile.
