Nikolas Drakos hates demons. Especially since a demon killed his father. And since Nikolas works for the Bureau of Demon Crimes, he has even more proof of why they need to be kept in their slums, walled off from innocent humans. When he receives a tip about Rex Ekon, he’ll stop at nothing to sneak in and find out what’s up at the stronghold. All Haven wants to do is finish her task for her human lord and gain her freedom. But when a human man shows up in her bedroom, things get…complicated. He’s immediately found and taken to the dungeons below, and Haven can’t deny her urge to help him, playing right into her master’s hands. She’s ordered to help him “escape” so he can locate his estranged demon activist sister. To say Nik is less than pleased about circumstances is an understatement, even though something about the enticing lower demon pulls him in. Too bad getting too close will kill him.
