Accompanying the beloved to pay respects to ancestors, the home is gone

Episódio 1 / 42

On the day of a traditional Chinese holiday for honoring ancestors, my in-laws' house caught fire. I called Shen Feng, urging him to hurry back home to see his parents one last time. However, despite hearing his own parents' cries for help, he insisted it was a hoax, determined to accompany Lu Yanyan back to her hometown for the ancestral rites. I sent him videos of his parents injured, pleading, "Our parents are really in critical condition. Please, come back and see them!" He refused to believe it, adamantly claiming that the video of his dying parents was digitally manipulated. Shen Feng's patience with me had worn thin: "Enough, Zhang Xiao. Stop dragging my parents into this. If you keep bothering me, we'll get a divorce!" Later, Shen Feng was paying his respects at his parents' graves, trembling as he took the divorce papers I handed to him. His eyes were bloodshot, and in a fit of rage, he attacked the woman he loved most, Lu Yanyan, with his own hands.
