Kaelan Shaw, a programmer, and Vera Sterling time-travel to The Grand Xia Dynasty. They become an emperor and an empress from a noble family, in a political marriage. Initially at odds, they recognize each other as 'fellow countrymen' from another world via modern slang. They work together, using modern knowledge to implement policies, suppress Noble Clans, and develop Grand Xia's economy. They create a golden age and find love.
