Willow Locke, daughter of the Vice Minister of Works, becomes Emperor Aurelian's Concubine Willow. She uses carpentry skills. Protector-General Warren admires her designs. When the Wolf Tribe invades, Warren dies. Willow Locke rushes to the western frontier, using mechanical skills to turn the tide of war, building a steel defense line. On her return, she and Emperor Aurelian form an 'Emperor-Empress Contract'. She grows from concubine to battlefield hero and Empress.
