A fishing girl saves a wounded merman and hides him. However, her sister-in-law imprisons him to steal his pearls for wealth, causing the bay to dry up. The girl braves dangers to save him and reveal the truth. After the greedy are punished, the tides return to the bay, and she finds peace.
