Investigator Caden Hayes arrives in Riverbend for a 20-year-old cold case and illegal gold mining. After Seraphina Frost, the Fox Woman, appears, Caden ignores childhood friend Rosalind Thorne's protests. Villagers attempt to drive him out, yet his faith in Seraphina never wavers. They fight side by side, exposing a conspiracy, clearing Seraphina's name, and helping her get her revenge. Caden also solves the cold case.
