Serena Vale was originally the sole heir of the Vale family. Her mother, Nerissa Vale, once saved the Cross family and left behind a coastal trust along with mysterious ocean development rights. The Cross family promised to protect Serena and fulfill the engagement agreement between her and Adrian Cross when she came of age. Serena once believed that this arranged marriage would at least give her a home and a family. But everything changed when, during a luxurious yacht party, she witnessed Adrian betraying her with Celeste Monroe.
