On her wedding night, Seraphina Sterling was abandoned by Alastair Hawthorne for Ivy, who claimed pregnancy. Seraphina proposed an annulment. Alastair threatened Sterling assets, but Seraphina cut off Hawthorne Army's payroll and mining. Seraphina exposed Ivy's fake pregnancy. Alastair's childhood sweetheart, Evelyn Jacobs, returned, battling Ivy. Seraphina took control of Sterling Corporation.
